It's a risky business to be one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood.
Ask Tom Cruise, who was seen hopping on the wing of a small plane Saturday while practicing a stunt for a movie in these photos obtained exclusively by AtoZ media.
In the photos, Cruise, 59, can be seen hanging upside down as the plane flips over to perform a "loop loop" in the air to make it appear that the actor is actually sitting upright. Cruise is easy to see in the photos because the plane is yellow and his overalls and helmet are brown.
The Scientologist wore a safety harness to keep him from falling off the plane as it whirled through the open skies with him moving along the wing.
The aircraft used for the stunt is a 1941 Boeing B75N1 Stearman biplane in which the pilot sits in the rear. He took off from Duxford airfield to practice wild stunt 2,000 feet above the Cambridgeshire countryside.
The stunt is likely to be for the eighth installment of Cruise's "Mission: Impossible" franchise, which has reportedly been filming across the UK for several months, according to the BBC.
The photos show that Cruise was sitting in the front seats of the plane before taking off. Once the plane was in the sky, he seemed to crawl out of his seat and climb onto the wing to practice the terrifying maneuver.
A second small plane can be seen closely following Cruise's stunt plane, probably to practice filming the stunt itself for the movie.
Death-defying stunts are nothing new for the actor who was also seen filming another on a train earlier this year, AtoZ media exclusively reported, for another "Mission: Impossible" movie.
