Former football player Vinnie Jones' wife left £ 150,000 when he passed away, but did not leave a will.
Tanya Jones died after a long battle with cancer at age 53 at the couple's Los Angeles home in July 2019.
But because she died without a will, her estate passed directly to her grieving husband.
Official documents show that former Wimbledon ace Vinnie received the succession last month.
Vinnie, who rose to film stardom in the gangster movie Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, has since written about his heartbreak over losing Tanya.
In his book, Lost Without You, he recounted how they met at a social club in Watford, Herts, when he was 13 and she was 12.
They married in 1994 and Tanya battled a number of health problems, including a heart transplant at age 21.
The couple had been married for 25 years when she passed away.
Speaking after her death, Vinnie, 56, said: "I don't think you'll move on, but I think my life will get better.
"The tiredness will be relieved."
He revealed that he had sought out a psychologist to help him deal with his pain and urged men to seek counseling rather than sink into depression.
Vinnie added: "I would recommend going to see a psychologist 100 percent.
"You're not laying on a couch like you're a lunatic or a serial killer.
"Guys don't want to talk about it.
"They'll talk about the girl they slept with last night, but they won't go talk to a doctor about how they're feeling."
Because he died without a will, his estate passed directly to Vinnie. He was granted the succession last month, the newspapers show.
The 56-year-old former tough guy from Wimbledon, who also starred in the gangster movie Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, has written about his heartbreak over losing Tanya.
